Chicago, IL, July-26-2022 – Ant Robotics, Inc. a industrial material handling automation provider, and alwaysAI®, a computer vision platform leader, have partnered to drive an innovative pilot project for 5G Studio, a collaboration between Verizon and Newlab.
Ant Robotics’ material handling automation technology brings to life an innovative solution: autonomous transportation robots for industrial spaces, which may help manufacturers save up to 80% of material handling expenses. This unique solution includes robotic pallet movers, guided by robot-agnostic fleet orchestration, a potential game changer in the warehousing and logistics industry.
The project combines Ant Robotics and alwaysAI’s next-generation platforms to increase safety and performance of industrial self-moving robots. The solution, showcased through the 5G Studio, leverages Verizon’s 5G and edge compute technologies to distribute powerful computer vision applications.
The collaboration between Ant Robotics and alwaysAI unleashes highly complementary capabilities to drive a unique Industry 4.0 solution, bringing critical features to industrial robotic customers, including:
- Low latency: The low latency enabled by 5G can reduce errors and response time, increase near real-time robot path planning accuracy, and improve data processing capacity.
- Reduced deployment time: The integrated hardware and software solution developed by Ant Robotics and alwaysAI dramatically reduce deployment time.
- Reduced computational load: - 5G-enabled robots allow the computation to occur at the network edge. The reduced computational load on the onboard hardware can translate to more cost-effective, safe, efficient and more successful robot deployments.
